Graduation Sweet Table

We like helping our clients prepare for milestone celebrations and last Saturday’s grad party was no exception. Congratulations to Daniel on his recent graduation from S.F.U. The school’s colours added flare to the DesignerCookies’ sweet table.

DesignerCakes High School Yearbook Cake

Guildford Park Secondary School’s yearbook has a team of dedicated writers and photographers who work throughout the year capturing their school’s history with stories and pictures. What fun this year when teacher-sponsor, Brian, ordered a DesignerCookies’ cake for their year-end celebration.

Sandra began by building a base for the cake — she painted a fondant-covered cardboard surface so it resembled an old wooden desk. Two sections of cake, also covered in fondant, formed an opened yearbook. The end product looked like the school’s annual, with each team members’ name written on the “cover.”

Thank you, Guildford Park, for celebrating your accomplishments in style with a DesignerCookies cake! We congratulate you on a job well done.

Rubber Ducky Cupcakes

Blue and yellow look so pretty together. Imagine two dozen vanilla cupcakes with light blue buttercream icing, each topped with a miniature rubber ducky. Sandra handcrafted each duck using yellow and orange fondant. They likely wouldn’t float, but they look so much like the real thing, it wouldn’t surprise me if they did!

Umbrellas Galore

Here are pictures taken at last week’s Coquitlam Farmers’ Market from beneath the shelter of our DesignerCookies’ tent. We loved that many of the umbrellas resembled our sugar cookie display!

Nemo and Dory Birthday Cupcakes

The making of Nemo and Dory birthday party cupcakes began with 32 vanilla cupcakes. (If you’re visiting this blog from the DesignerCookie’s newsletter, and you guessed “vanilla” — give yourself a pat on the back — you guessed right!).

nemo_prep3Sandra began by piping blue buttercream icing across the surface of her edible canvas (i.e. the cupcakes).

Birthday Party Sweet Table

Karen went out all for her husband’s birthday party this year. We won’t give away Brian’s age (but here’s a clue — look for the candle on the birthday cake).

As well as ordering a sweet table from DesignerCookies, Karen asked us to help prepare and serve hors d’ouevres and drinks. The venue (Karen and Brian’s home) was beautiful. It easily accommodated the 45+ guests who came to visit and celebrate with the birthday boy and his family.

The sweet table included a chocolate ganache cake, chocolate caramel cupcakes (large and miniature) chocolate mocha cupcakes (large and miniature), chocolate cake pops, large and miniature sugar cookies, chocolate-covered pretzels and an assortment of candies.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday Cake

Sandra created this Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake for a three-year-old’s birthday party. It was fun watching it come to life in our design studio.

First she made the 3-D figures, then she baked a vanilla cake — she added a smooth coat of fondant to each of the two tiers.

The cake featured a fun surprise element. Each tier contained four layers, and each layer was a different colour — red, yellow, pink and orange.

Black and White Sweet Table

The DesignerCookies’ black and white sweet table created a buzz at the April 14 Tricities’ Wedding Show in Coquitlam. Brides, parents and event planners stopped to chat and ask questions. The two most popular questions: “Are those cupcakes real?” and “How much would a table like this cost?”

A DesignerCookies’ sweet table is:

  1. designed to suit any budget
  2. tailored to fit your event
  3. as colourful (or black and white) as desired

And Something Blue

We displayed our “and something blue” sweet table at the Fraser Valley Wedding Swap in Fort Langley on March 31. In addition to a three-tiered wedding cake, we also included matching cupcakes, cake pops, sugar cookies and candies.

Sweet tables add a splash of colour to events — and an element of fun too. Guests enjoy choosing a dessert from a wide selection of yummy options.
